Are you interested in staying in an apartment overlooking the Thames, with Tower Bridge to your right and Canary Wharf to your left? Would you also like to be about 20 minutes from most of London’s sites of interest? Maybe you would like to take the 10 minute stroll past Butler's along the banks of the Thames to Tower Bridge with its famous restaurants? There are a wide variety of museums, restaurants, shops and other points of interest within easy walking distance, including the famous Bermondsey Antiques Market. If this sounds like your type of holiday/vacation, then this is the place you've been looking for.
Located south of the Thames River in Bermondsey, the village location of the Charles Dickens novel, Oliver Twist, this spacious, two-bedroom apartment [of about 1300 square feet] is on the 6th floor in a modern development with elevator for easy access. The apartment has 24-hour security, CCTV, concierge, a fitness center and parking upon request. Bermondsey Underground/ 'subway' Station, is only a short walk from the apartment. It is on the Jubilee Line, the newest & most modern of all the London 'Tube' lines. You can reach all areas of London & many attractions out of the city, like Windsor Castle, Wimbledon, Heathrow Airport, via the Underground 'Tube' system and nearby train stations.
The Bermondsey Tube Station boasts not only all modern conveniences, but also some of the most helpful staff on the Underground network. This is, perhaps, because Bermondsey still has a community feeling which has died out in many other area of London. In addition to the Underground service, there are also frequent bus services nearby which will take you to many areas of the capital such as the London Eye observation wheel, Parliament, 'Big Ben', St. Paul's Cathedral, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, and the Tate Modern and other world-class museums, to name a few. The 02 arena is short tube ride away.
On entering the apartment, the smaller or second bedroom is off the central hallway on the right, with a shower room next to it. At the end of the hallway is the master bedroom with ensuite bathroom. To the left of the hallway you’ll find the kitchen, dining room/living room and balcony over the Thames.
The living room is furnished with leather sofas, a recliner & footstool, various coffee tables, a desk and office chair with free high speed internet access and Wi-Fi, a telephone, various cabinets and chest of drawers and a VCR. The living room and dining room have wooden flooring. The kitchen and bathrooms are tiled and the bedrooms are carpeted.
The master bedroom is furnished with a queen sized bed, a wall-to-wall wardrobe, a dressing table with a vanity mirror & stool, a chest of drawers, TV, alarm clock, bedside reading lights and a fitted carpet. The "wall to wall" windows face south overlooking the neighborhood. The ensuite bathroom is equipped with a tub (with handrails for safe entry and exit), shower, basin surmounted by a lighted mirror, bidet, toilet and numerous places for storage of toiletry items.
The second bedroom has twin beds, bedside lamp, chests of drawers, wardrobes, shelves, a vanity mirror & stool, fitted carpets and TV. The windows also face south.
The kitchen comes equipped with an electric oven, 4 gas hobs/burners, an electric griddle, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer combo, dishwasher, toaster, electric kettle, coffee percolator, cooking utensils, crockery and cutlery. There is also a supply of spices and a variety of basic items like tea, sugar, etc. There is a large service hatch (window) from the kitchen to the dining area, making it easier to pass food into the dining room where there is a food warmer to hold food until served.
The apartment has gas central heating.
